This does seem to be a similar version of asana to ardha-baddha-padmottanasana, but the ball makes an interesting variation.

Hi Mila

Thanks for the reply, yes the foot stays on the ball when you go into the forward bend.

Hi Carmen,

I'm not sure, but it sounds like a modern version of ardha-baddha-padmottanasana, which is also known as half bound lotus stretched out posture. Is the leg still on the ball when you go into the forward fold? If so the difference between ardha-baddha-padmottanasana and the posture you speak of is there is no ball but that raised leg is in a half lotus.

Hi Everyone

There's a posture used in a dvd I bought a long time ago, and I can't seem to find the name of the posture.

The dvd is called Yoga Dance, so perhaps it is not originally a yoga pose, but some kind of variation, but if any of you know this pose and can give me the name, it would be much appreciated.

It's a standing posture, starting with the feet together, raise one foot onto the ball, so that the leg is bent, bring the arms back, palms facing forward, arms slightly curved, and from there you move into a forward bend.

Any ideas?

Carmen
