Aura Yoga Focuses on Student Safety, Healing, and Awakening. It is important that teachers of yoga demonstrate proper techniques so as to promote healing and inner awakening in their students. Yoga has an array of benefits for the mind and body. Students will be able to reap the full benefits through the proper practice of techniques.

Yoga has many health and healing benefits through its ability to improve overall health. Students must learn that healing begins with accepting the person that they are. Once self-acceptance has occurred, the process of reducing stress and increasing well-being can begin. Teachers of aura yoga should be able to demonstrate the proper techniques and poses that are optimal for healing.

Health benefits come from the breathing techniques, stretching and improved fitness through yoga. Physical, as well as mental healing can be accomplished through the practice of yoga. Yoga aids in healing or minimizing the effects of such conditions as high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, asthma and pain associated with other medical conditions.

Aura yoga is a yoga style that differs from other yoga styles which views self-awakening as the end of the practice. The yoga teacher training in Aura wants graduates to think for themselves. The guru doesn't want mindless sheep. He encourages people to manage their lives with self empowerment. Aura yoga views self-awareness as the first step in the succeeding practices associated with a healthy life. With Aura yoga, a deeper form of meditation is used to create inner awareness. This awareness and internal awakening makes a person understand that they are part of a larger universe that is controlled by a divine being.

The poses in yoga are often recognized for their physical benefits. However, the poses are a powerful tool in understanding one's inner self. Aura yoga teachers should teach their students in a way that students have a heightened sense of self-awareness. They should be able to recognize physical and mental discomforts and use the techniques and poses they have learned to counter these discomforts.

Yoga instructors should also stress the importance of meditation as a way to increase self-awareness. Achieving self-awareness is essential in helping one to know what is needed to nourish and improve one's self. Self-awareness will help the student gain a positive perspective about themselves and their body which will begin to affect all aspects of life.

Students learn from their instructors. Therefore, it is vital for Aura yoga teachers to have a positive attitude and to properly demonstrate breathing techniques and postures that will maximize the physical and mental benefits of yoga for their students.

Why Ashtanga Yoga Is So Popular
By Hristo Todorov

First I would like to say something about Ashtanga Yoga in general and then I will give my opinion why it is becoming one of the most popular yoga disciplines all around the world.

What is Ashtanga Yoga?

Just like any other Yoga style, Ashtanga is a physical discipline which includes also mental and emotional benefits.

It is proven to have many physical benefits for your body, including body detoxification, muscle and joint pain relieves and it builds your flexibility and strength. Besides just strengthening your body physically it helps you strengthen the nervous system, focus mentally and release negative energy.

The other very different thing you will notice straight the way, is the Yoga Mat used for practicing Ashtanga. Traditionally it is made from cotton, and it is very absorbent. Because Ashtanga is very power oriented yoga, it will most probably make you sweat and you would not like to be using a rubber or PVC Mat which gets very slippery when it gets wet.

Why Ashtanga Yoga is getting so popular?

It is very simple I think. We like things to be difficult so it is worth doing them.

Most of the Yoga disciplines are focused on flexibility, relaxation and breathing and most of them are not so difficult and can be practiced by nearly everyone. That is why most people think they are boring.

But Ashtanga Yoga is different, even the easiest poses are very demanding on the body and require a lot of energy. You have to be in quit a good shape to start with those poses. That's why it is also called Power Yoga.

So, if you are an athletic person and you are looking for new ways to strengthen your body physically and mentally, give it a try, you will most probably like it.

Raja Yoga is also known as Ashtanga Yoga.

Learn The Eight Fold Path To Ashtanga Yoga
By Jack Wogan

The first fully comprehensive texts, written on yoga were by a sage called Patanjali and they became known as the yoga sutras. Patanjali wrote 196 sutras in total. Ashtanga is known as the royal eightfold yoga and practice should lead participants to inner truth, which Patanjali called objectless Samadhi.

Patanjali's principles consist of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing) and meditation (dhyana). In addition the concept of eight limbs is central to Ashtanga yoga. All the limbs are connected to each other. Think of the eight limbs as individual ingredients to health and happiness and inner truth, or bliss.

Yoga originated in India and has become more popular in the West in recent years. Someone who achieves a high level of attainment is known as a Yogi or Yogini. Many people who practice take special holidays. Yoga retreats offer the opportunity to practice for a few hours per day over a set number of days. Options include complimentary therapies and vegan food. The variety of yoga holidays is quite vast and keen yogis can practice their art almost anywhere in the world.

The first of the eight limbs in Ashtanga yoga is yamas and refers to universal truths. Dedicated followers must observe non-violence, non-stealing and celibacy as well as being truthful. The second limb, niyamas are practices, such as cleanliness and self- study. Yoga retreats make it easier for participants to truly observe all the requirements of Ashtanga as you are away from usual day to day distractions and there are dedicated tutors on hand for help and advice.

Other limbs of Ashtanga yoga can be grouped together under activity. Postures (asanas) and breath awareness (pranayama) are important to the physical activity of yoga. The sutras advise that yogis should feel comfort and joy. Anyone who has tried yoga will be aware of the need for the fifth limb; concentration (dharana).

The remaining limbs can be summarised at various states of mind achieved during the practice of yoga including; sense withdrawal (pratyahara), meditation (dhyana) and ultimately bliss (Samadhi).

Yogis who have achieved bliss speak very highly of the experience although they find it difficult to describe. All eight limbs of Ashtanga need to be experienced by an individual to be fully understood.

Yoga retreats offer individuals the opportunity to improve on technique and gain the advice and wisdom of trained and experienced practitioners. Short dedicated yoga holidays can accelerate the learning curve of beginners as well as more experienced practitioners.
