Yes, you are right. Free Yoga dsn't work. If someone offers you a free session with a heart surgeon and a free operation, you might have to reconsider. Truth is Yoga studios have gone broke giving things away. If you want to capture interest, run a specialized workshop to see if there is any interest. Yoga studio owners have to make the students feel the value, but giving free lessons sounds like the health club memberships for free and then they prostitute themselves for $10 per month memberships.
Finally they close the doors. Any marketing guru who tells you to give your classes away should give his services away too. What's the going rate for a Yoga business coach? 300 dollars per hour! Wow! that will break us all quick, especially if I am still paying off my $15,000.00 Yoga teacher training tab from an exclusive Ashram in Ontario. They didn't cover a thing about business. I finally had to consult with Paul and got a Yoga business kit. It cost me alot less than an hour of coaching and it made my head spin with marketing and business ideas. About two years ago I almost closed. Well I'm glad I got help.
