Namaskar Rommy,
Good question. Until Jade responds, here is my experience. Having used PPC locally and Internationally for about 10 years, I can give you my findings. PPC is great for a new web site, while you are waiting for your organic rankings (Also known as Search Engine Optimization or SEO) to rise - That may take about six months.
However, PPC can be very expensive; and contrary to popular opinion most Yoga teachers are not swimming in money. You should establish a strict daily budget and check in on it frequently. Not to sound like a commercial, but since Google controls the vast majority of targeted traffic on the Internet, AdWords is a good choice, and it is very user friendly.
Over the long term, you want to grow your specific keyword rankings organically. If your SEO rankings become strong, you can save quite a bit on PPC, but I would never get rid of PPC advertising. In comparison to print media, AdWods PPC is totally trackable using Google analytics, and the return on investment is much higher.
Om Shanti,
Paul
