The advice above mine is very good and many precautions are mentioned. The main concern is that you don't over extend yourself financially. With that in mind, most businesses should open with 1 year's operating costs prepared, while building a customer base. Most businesses open with 1-2 months operating costs and no game plan.
If you have the student following already, you have less worries, but you must still advertise to the public. Most students do not stay forever. If you are finacially prepared and have students, you may want to build a website. Your website is the most cost effective form of advertising that money can buy.
