Hi Kuti,
Have your rules in print and on your website. Some parents need to see it in print. Once I had a parent swearing in front of the kids. When I asked him to check his language, he said there was no studio rule against profanity. Here's an example of house rules:
I love the first one: "Please follow the instructions given by your teacher without talking back. Learn to listen. This is the fundamental principle of this studio." Someone had to push a teacher pretty far for him or her to make that rule. One word of advice to any yoga teacher: Start doing class packages and collect your tuition up front. Here's an example for kids packages:
Single Class $13
4 Class Package $45 (valid for 1 month)
10 Class Package $97 (valid for 3 months)
20 Class Package $187 (valid for 6 months)
You don't have to put expiration dates on yoga class packages, but be prepared to see students finish a four class package five years later.
