Kid’s yoga for improved self image: Yoga is a practice that helps us to access peace and tranquility also to incorporate or develop harmony among mind, body and soul. Nowadays this physical activity is becoming very much popular amongst everyone for its effectual outcomes especially for children. Yoga is mediated in many schools as an additional activity during or after school due to its beneficial aspects regarding to child’s physical, emotional, behavioral and cognitive development.

Yoga is referred as a safe, non competitive and optimistic therapy for building a solid foundation in child’s personality. Physically it enhances child’s body flexibility, strength, balance, coordination and awareness whereas mentally it efficiently improves concentrating and creative skills, sense of calmness also helpful in creating deep connection within their inner self. Yoga practice is based on four components that include bodily postures, paranayama breathing, relaxation and meditational techniques. Typical yoga sessions for kids are designed to teach them how to reduce anxiety or stress levels, how to acquire feel of relaxation, how freely they can express their emotions and cultivate inner peace. By practicing different paranayama and meditational techniques they are able to develop clear connection with their insight, efficiently synchronized mind, body and soul. Kid’s yoga classes can be helpful in creating safe, healthy and focused environment for children to strengthen their personalities, boosting up positive self image and self esteem. The feeling of comparison, teasing, shame and anger occur in children when self worth becomes dependent. Yoga is an activity that is performed in a collaborative environment in which every individual aims to feel good about one self by tracking his\her progress or personal development. Children did not have any worry of achieving number one position; all activities are performed as team work by participating without fear of exclusion.

A dedicated and well planned session of kid’s yoga under the guidance of a skilled professional with controlled breathing patterns, bodily asanas and behavioral guidelines will grant valuable benefits which lead to the process of constant self discovery and inquisitiveness. It introduces basic attributes of life like truthfulness, assurance, gratitude, self discipline, strength of mind, non-harming and cleanliness in a child’s persona. Yoga exercises act as a powerful tool to become compassionate, being patient, encourage confidence level and determination to work hard in achieving their goals.
