Hi Jay, Traci, and Everyone,

It's such a nice day to be at peace with yourself. Every yoga teacher wants to share this lovely gift we call yoga. Yoga enhances a childs concentration, flexibility, balance, strength, awareness, and coordination. It keeps them away from television, video games, and the Internet.

Good points - Jay. I agree that a child or adult of any religion will benefit spiritually through the practice of yoga. But this can also scare some parents with intolerant views away.

There's nothing quite like facing a crowd of shouting Christian fundamentalists to wake you up. The world is not full of loving kindness for spiritual growth. Pat Robertson once stated on the 700 Club that Yoga was "evil and spooky." The only problem: Some people would have voted for Pat Robertson to be president.

Although we might think this is far fetched and just an extreme viewepoint. He is not alone. Dr. Scott Johnson also feels that martial arts, yoga, accupuncture, and reiki are "evil." His parents practiced yoga and they are also evil. He is enlightened though because tunnel vision is the right path. Strange, but I don't think Jesus would agree.

Now you say: You named two crack pots and that's it. Adolph Hitler was a crack pot too! All he needed was a following. Author Dave Hunt calls yoga "the greatest Trojan Horse of our time." He claims that yoga, could leave one open to demonic influences and yoga shouldn't be practiced by Christians.

If we think the world is full of educated and loving people - think again. Unfortunately, neo-nazis, klan members, and witch hunters exist. Worse than that they raise children too. Sorry to bring this up, but be prepared for the extreme views to blind side you.

Peace,

Amy
