I was lurking around this forum tonight and saw Eartheart's answer. I have to agree with her, but I feel that this form of discrimination is bothering you. Most universities have distance learning courses, so this hurts your feelings. If you feel compelled to call them - go for it. My feeling is these people will confirm over the phone all the reasons why you wouldn't want to spend any of your free time with them. Whatever you decide, don't let it bother you. When we are kids, all of us felt discrimination in some form. Then we become adults and some of us forget. It hurts to be reminded, but elitists exist everywhere. Make your classes interesting for your students and don't worry about the teachers with small minds and big egos.
