Namaskar Everyone,
This makes interesting subject matter. The ego can get out of control, but when this happens is the person with an inflated ego really a yogi? Bikram insulted many forms of yoga and I can't classify him as a snob, but I don't know if he is more than a hot exercise instructor with a hint of yoga in his classes. I have a few other choice thoughts about him, but you can use your imagination.
Something to think about: The Niyama we know as "Saucha" or "Sauca" means cleanliness of mind, spirit, and body. We all kow how to clean the body but the mind needs to be purged of impurities like intolerance, hate, anger and egotistic behavior.
can proceed to asana and the other means." -- Yoga Bhashya Vivarana (II.29)
If "advanced yogis" don't practice Yama and Niyama, they aren't really yogis.
Peace be with you,
Hamed
