Dear Peg,
Nice to hear from you. If you own anything of value, it is wise to have insurance. It's also a good policy to have an informed consent form. Some teachers have sports liability insurance, while others carry yoga liability insurance. Either one is fine. Prices vary, but Yoga liability insurance is worth the investment.
Shanti,
Paul

Hi Peg,
I've never heard of a student taking a Yoga teacher to task over a liability issue. I'm guessing that you would go easy with your students in the church. However, even in extremely abusive Bikram classes, students don't press the issue of liability on teachers; but, you probably should have some sort of liability insurance. If you teach other classes that are fitness-oriented, you might want to pick up additional insurance on a present sports liability policy.
Best Wishes,
Lea
