Hi,
This past year has been challenging to say the least. One month after starting the aura yoga teachers program I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Two months later I had surgery removing the cancer and my breasts/reconstructing them with my belly (tram flap reconstruction). After ten weeks of painful recovery including many pain killers, lots of meditation and breathing techniques, I slowly and steadily recovered in amazement, joy and happiness. As soon as I was able, I gently started back to the physical parts of yoga (myself)which has increased the speed of my recovery. For the last 3 months I have been (practicing) teaching classes 3 times a week to 1 to 3 students. I still have to write my essay and video a class before Oct 31st.I am considering asking for an extension. I really don't know why I have been procrastinating these last two steps, BIT I HAVE. I feel like I have lost such valuable time and maybe I just need some encouragement to suck it up and press on.
Is there anyone out there that can push me to get this done?
thanks,
Joanne : )

B,
Thank you for your compassion and understanding. It's nice to know I am not alone. Congratulations to you, me, and all other cancer survivors. Strength, courage, and love goes out to all cancer fighters, and to all reading this. Thank you for the advice I will take it and send Paul an e-mail. I have been stressing about writing him for a while now, which is just down right crazy. Now that I know he is a teddy bear, I have nothing to stress about. Thanks for including me in your prayers.
Perdy,
Thank you also for your advice, will do. You are right I do need time to heal physically and mentally. I am sorry for the loss of your friends.Unfortunately we all seem to be touched by it (cancer) in one way or another.
Namaste,
Joanne

Girl,
Did you come to the right place or what?! I completely understand your position and I've been where you are. You are not alone. Call or write to Paul. Medical leave is an exception and he's a teddy bear. You did what you had to - now contact him and get your life back on track. You'll be in my prayers today and every day after.
Namaste,
B

There is no hypocrisy in this yoga teacher training program. Any motivated person who desires to study intensively will complete a course in a fairly short time period. It is understandable that illness is a set back and a good thing to know that Aura has a gentle side. That is much different from most TTC programs.
To become a good quality yoga instructor, extensive training is a must. The Aura program treats each of us as unique. Their certification process treats students with trustworthiness. That one piece made me realize I chose the ideal program for my yoga teacher certification course.

Amen to that. Always contact Aura Wellness Center if you're having illness. They'll understand.
