Namaskar Justin,
Based upon your post, I am glad to learn that your Yoga teacher training materials have arrived.
The keywords for our students are: "Let the pose happen gradually."
Each student is unique in finding his, or her, personal "edge" during asana practice. This edge is determined by present range of motion and pain threshold. Pushing into pain is similar to drinking and driving. The possibilities are endless, but we put ourselves at risk everytime.
One way to "get the message across," is to repeat warnings during each Yoga class. Every Yoga teacher should repeat warnings and safety guidelines in every class. Another method is to leave related handouts, which give students guidelines for a safe Yoga practice.
Please feel free to use any articles in our Blogs to support your own research.
All the best to you and yours.
OM Shanti,
Paul
