A beginner yoga student needs guidance. If possible seek out a local yoga teacher who really cares about you. One class will tell you about the teacher's agenda, so pay the walk in fee. If you cannot find a good local yoga teacher, you would be better off with an online yoga course. Aura has an Intro course. You will get real guidance and feedback. Yoga DVD's alone don't give you safety tips, tutoring or feedback. At least, not yet.
