Hi There,
For the record, it is quite possible for a person with no experience to read a Yoga book or watch a DVD, and then begin to practice. This takes patience on the part of the Yoga aspirant. How much could one learn? Quite a lot. I have a student who learned Yoga at home in the mountains.
Her family had one Hatha Yoga book. Nobody in the family was a Guru, Swami, or teacher. After one class, I wanted to know where she studied before. She reached in a bag and showed me her worn out and yellowed Yoga book written by Vishnu Devananda.
Any person with good knowledge of the body and patience can do foundational Yoga training. Will they know everything? Who ds? Only God knows everything. The rest of us must learn Yoga - one page at a time.
Peace,
Vanessa
