Good Question! The baby's temperature is up to 33.8 degrees Fahrenheit higher than the mother's body temperature.
The baby is unable to sweat while in the womb and, thus, has no way of cooling down - therefore, it is imperative that the mother's body temperature does not rise significantly - as a result of Summer heat, exercising, the use of saunas, etc. This can cause a threat to the unborn baby. This is another reason why many Yoginis drop out of Hot Yoga classes during pregnancy.
