Yoga has managed to regulate itself for many thousands of years. If or when governments become involved in Yoga, it will not be for the best. It would become a political arena with the wealthy ashrams having all the power.

It could also be shut down by religious fanatics who see Yoga as "evil." Yoga teachers need to educate themselves and to join teacher networks. This ds not mean you have to join the Yoga Alliance, but you should be involved with a network of Yoga teachers. There should be more options for Yoga teacher networks.
