Sorry, I don't agree with you Donna. You have many opportunities in the United States, but you don't take advantage of them. I worked hard to come to this country and become a yoga teacher. If a hard working immigrant can sacrifice to become a certified yoga teacher and then later a registered yoga teacher, so can you. You were born lucky as an American, but not willing to make a sacrifice for a better opportunity. If you become an RYT you can say you are better because the Yoga Alliance says you are better. Everyone believes RYT is a big status symbol. Nobody questions an RYT! So just play the game and dance the dance. Save up your vacation money, work extra hours, work hard, and become an RYT like me. About young teachers - I am one. About Immigrants - I am one. As you say: "Old Cronies," I agree the Yoga Alliance is full of cronyism, elitists, and egotists, but the young registered teachers will rule someday. Quit complaining and advance yourself.
