Namaste Fellow Yoga Teachers,

Any of us who aren't wet behind the ears know registration is money for a credential. It doesn't matter that yoga alliance doesn't know who you are and never saw you teach. Nothing matters but the piece of paper. Did I just say that? <img decoding=" title="Laughing" /> Really - have you ever had a student care or ask about your YA card? No! If you want a job in a studio they hire within. Again, it doesn't matter. If a school teaches Bikram, they're not going to hire a Kripalu yoga teacher.

I don't care how many people tell you the YA stamp on your forehead will make a difference. Studios hire graduates of their own yoga certification courses. The states could care less. Michigan and Virginia laughed in YA's face. That's right - the states ignored them because the states wanted tax money and lots of it. You think they wanted YA to get a cut? YA's Arlington Virginia office didn't lift a finger.

YA basically said this will weed out the inferior yoga teacher training centers. TAXATION is un-American. What the heck did we have a war of independence over? We might as well give up and beg England for forgiveness if we think taxing yoga is fine.

YA's policy of blind compliance to unfair taxation despite a promise to be the defenders of yoga studios is hypocrisy. They really said, "Tough luck Mom and Pop Yoga schools." It been fun taking your dues, but don't ask for help. While you're going bankrupt here's one last kick in the seat for those dues you paid on time.

Shanti,

Mila
