Namaskar!
Thank you Mtnsol for the information about Holi. I'm surprised you didn't mention spraying your friends and relatives with colored powders, but we get the idea. There are so many stories about the reason Holi is celebrated, but its fantastic that the Indian people keep traditions alive. Which brings me to a commercial holiday hnown as Yoga day USA. I wish it was inclusive, but I'm deeply saddened by the creation of this holiday because we can all see the obvious. The point is to exclude everyone except members of Yoga Alliance and to promote a feeling of sadness if you don't belong. Why couldn't Yoga Day be and international bridge for unity among Yogis instead of an exclusive holiday celebrated by registered yoga schools and teachers? Why couldn't it be 'International Yoga Day" for everyone? The grand standing TO PROMOTE ENROLLMENT is too much for most of us who love this sacred practice. When a whole group of Yogis can't practice modesty its a slap to all of us.
Peace,
Rose
