Om Namashivaya
The largest regulating body of Yoga is the International Yoga Federation (IYF). Many Yoga teachers in India and Asia join them - they are much larger than the Yoga Alliance, and the British Wheel of Yoga.
If i remember correctly, Paulji is a member of the IYF. This is not meant to stir a political debate. He told me it is a wise practice to network with other teachers in order to expand knowledge. There are many ways to expand your knowledge, but interacting with other Yoga teachers is fun.
The truth is, you do not have to join any Yoga teacher network to teach Yoga, but new Yoga teachers join the Yoga Alliance to enhance their credentials. This is not meant to take away any credit from the organization or the new Yoga teachers who are working hard to get "wall paper."
Established Yoga teachers resist joining, as it seems like we are selling out, but you are not required by any government to join any Yoga teacher organizations.
It is worth looking at this site, if you are looking for a reputable Yoga organization.
