Namaskar,

Originally Restorative yoga was part of T Krishnamacharya's teaching. Although it wasn't named restorative at the time. Right now it seems as if there are two main roots of contemporary Restorative Yoga. Those two being Viniyoga and Iyengar Yoga. Does anyone know of any other roots to the restorative tree?

Any speculation about Restorative Yoga before Tirumalai Krishnamacharya is pure guess work. It is safe to say that Viniyoga, Iyengar, and modern yoga therapy are relatives to Restorative.
