I would like to hear feedback about teaching restorative yoga as a form of therapy. Just lately, I have new private clients who are making fantastic gains as they hold their postures longer. We also make use of every prop available and fixtures around the house. Of course, all client needs are infinitely different. But restorative yoga was designed to meet the needs of the individual.
Here is a sampling of the ailments and pre-existing conditions my clients have - Cancer recovery, hip pain, knee pain, back pain, neck pain, multiple sclerosis, stroke, heart attack recovery, stress disorders, and high blood pressure.
In each case, I have seen improvements. In every case they consulted with their doctor first. Often, I also encourage a steady practice of walking, if it is possible. I would love to hear feed back from any other yoga teachers or yoga therapists about this wonderful science we know as restorative yoga.
