Too many people have a perception that teaching Yoga is for the "young hard bodies." Nothing could be further from the truth. People need good Yoga teachers of all ages. There are plenty of Yoga students over 40, who are more comfortable with a Yoga teacher who understands their ailments.

In my opinion age is not matter to teach yoga or become yoga teacher but just desire to become so to help persons in the same age group and teaching by 40-50 year old teacher inspires those who are in same age group.

I think the life experience is invaluable. Yoga students will have questions and often may be asking less about poses, but more about life, well-being and your secret for staying healthy...YOGA :) I also think it would give people motivation! If teaching Yoga is your calling you will bring so much to people of all ages. Good luck with it.

Hi Julie, Yes, yoga will add quality to your life. I seriously think that some people like age to be an excuse for settling for less. Anyone can become a yoga teacher, find true love, and go to college at 90 years of age. Some people think they are old at 30 years of age. It's all a matter of perspective.
