Hi There,
Just wanted to add my view. The posts on this thread made me laugh. " title="Laughing" /> NBuff was so serious and Yoga Juice added some spice to the mix. There is no need to be defensive because yoga is supposed to be clean. This is much ado about nothing.
The truth is: people, will be people. Many ashrams maintain a clean atmosphere, for the benefit of all, but if you open a bar in an ashram, you will find someone drinking a beer. Therefore, you do not make it available.
The point is yoga is about holistic living. That means clean, balanced, and good for your health. If someone dsn't like a holistic lifestyle there are plenty of seedy places to spend your money in. Amsterdam and Las Vegas will never go broke due to lack of business. With this said, we don't have to turn everything into Amsterdam and Las Vegas.
The yoga snob dsn't practice yoga. It's just a cheap shot. Much like the way the papers like to play up priests, vicars, politicians, and police, when they get caught doing wrong. In the yoga snobs case, she can sell plenty of photos and books about nothing.
Cheers,
Vanessa
