As stated by many swamis, Yama and Niyama are the foundation of yoga and yogic ethics. This was written by Patanjali. Kindness and and respect are basic human values.
Those who are unhappy with Yoga having an ethical and clean face, work to push the limits of yoga and society at large. Societies such as democracies and republics pride themselves on putting tolerance on a pedestal within the legal system.
This creates a loop hole for those who wish to push everything to the legal limit. People who work to undermine the ethics of yoga are not yogins. Their agenda is to instigate and degrade all that is wholesome. Hence, people who capitalize by attempting to degrade yoga or yoga's ethical standards are a wasting their time and space with wickness.
