Pranam,
This thread should be renamed for Yoga teacher ethics. There is a point worth mentioning. In India, Bhakti Yoga is most widely practiced. This is not the same Yoga most of you practice in the States. This does not mean there are no scandals, but Bhakti is a spiritual practice.
About scandals, they happen anywhere you have people. Teacher and student should never be lovers, but it happens. There is no university, which can avoid these relationships. In the case of Yoga, the Guru who sleeps with his or her students is sure to crash and burn. When Yoga teacher ethics violations are exposed, the teachers are dismissed.
Namaste,
AS Kumar
