Namaskar Everyone,

I see how the initial post could create volatility. These sound like random changes in your body, Kitty. Never heard yoga created varicose veins, but I do wonder about the headstand. Big stomachs usually have more to do with diet. The remedies for thin legs with varicose veins are polar opposites. As an example of this - anything that would help develop muscle, on the legs, can also create varicose veins.

Let's say you practice Chair Pose for one to three minutes at a time. This would develop your legs, but if you already have varicose veins, you may not want to hold Chair Pose for much longer than 30 seconds. My first inclination is to recommend weight resistance. You would want to be careful with the size of the weights you use, and you might want to hire a personal trainer. As for the remark about DVD's, I have long believed that DVD's are better in the hands of teachers or interns.

So many people, who are just beginning Yoga, get hurt at home practicing with DVD's.This goes for every activity that anyone could do. I am sure that if there was a fishing video, someone could easily hook themselves when they go out fishing. Worse still, the instructors of the videos on mass market always tell you how good you are doing. How in the world would they know? They can't see you or the other million people who purchased that video. In the hands of an intern, or teacher, DVD's are extremely useful.

Goodbye,

Priyah
