Dear Mr. Patel,
Namaskar!
I would like to thank you for taking the time to reply.
Although, I wish you would have read
my post carefully before passing any comments and jumping to conclusions.
If you carefully read my post you will notice that I have not
blamed yoga for my problems. I have asked if, I could be doing it wrong.
If I didn't believe in the benefits and good effects of yoga /pranayama, I would not have stated that, I do not want to miss out on the benefits of it.
Sincerely,
Kitty
I'm completely amazed by two things on this thread.
1. Your statement -
I do 6 pranayamas (Bhastrika, Kapalbhati, Bahya, anulomvilam, bhramari and udgeet) and 3 asanas (paadvritasana, markatasana, makarasana)
Although I am lean (wt - 49.8kgs, ht - 5.5inch), I am putting fat on my stomach.
Although the exercises are meant to reduce fat from my stomach my stomach is getting bigger. Is it possible I might be doing it wrong?
Also, the green veins on my hands and legs have become prominent. My legs are already thin and they are getting thinner.
I dont want to miss out on the benefits of pranayama and asanas but at the same time
I dont want the ugly veins and thin legs and big stomach.
You should study from a Guru. Yoga DVDs are made for teachers and teacher trainees, not for the public at large. Many people get hurt, when trying to watch a DVD and perform shirsaasana at the same time. You are lucky you didn't break your neck.
2. When you say "I dont want to miss out on the benefits of pranayama and asanas but at the same time I dont want the ugly veins and thin legs and big stomach."
This is completely amazing: You claim Yoga gave you ugly veins, thin legs, and big stomach. Forget Yoga! You don't believe it will help you, so why bother? If you start smoking cigarettes today, your stomach will get smaller in 2-3 weeks. You could lift weights and get your legs bigger. Better stiil, you could try smoking while you lift weights.
Is my advice ridiculous? Do you see how ridiculous it is to blame yoga for ugly veins, thin legs, and big stomach? I'm sorry, but your statements make little sense. The pranayams and asans you mention won't do you harm. But you also said you practiced shirsaasana. This is a concern because anyone can be injured in that posture. Finally, I must agree with Paulji that you should see a doctor about prominent red veins in your eyes.
