Yoga for tennis elbow: Your advice (ice, rest, and visit a doctor) is correct. We do not want to assume it is tennis elbow, without a physician's professional opinion.
One point to mention is, our student's elbows, and all the rest of their joints, should never be locked (hyper-extended) in Yoga, or in life.
Usually, tennis elbow is caused by repeated injuries to the muscles and tendons on the outside (lateral aspect) of the elbow, which results from overuse or repetitive stress.
