Pranam,
Bhastrika is a good pranayama to teach seniors in chair yoga classes. If you want to make it more interactive you could have them bring their hands over head on the inhale and exhale with equal force, as the elbows draw in toward the ribs. In the case of blood pressure problems or heart conditions this technique should be performed slowly.
If senior chair yoga students have a worn or frayed rotator cuff the hands should probably not go over the head. Instead the hands can be drawn away from the body, in a forward direction, parallel to the floor. This technique should also be performed slowly in the case of a pre-existing rotator cuff injury.
After students completely understand this pranayama they can perform it without using their arms, if desired.

Very Interesting.
