I do agree that asanas are essential and I have been coping with the fitness mentality as my students seem to think that yoga is for exercise only. I started this week's sessions with 12 sun salutations then proceeded through asanas standing, balance, sitting, kneeling, prone, supine and added shoulder stands and back bends. We ended with short meditation. IT WORKED!
