Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga Teachers Diploma Course

Jane Mackarness

This course is composed of four modules written by Jane Mackarness. Jane is a U.K. based teacher with over 25 years experience teaching Yoga and training Yoga teachers.

Jane was Yoga Tutor and Head of Studies at the Kevala Centre for several years and is the author of Pre and Post Natal Yoga, co-author of Yoga for Fitness Professionals and co-producer of a Sanskrit pronunciation CD.

The whole course can be downloaded electronically or we can ship it to you by post.

Modules one to three cover the physical and emotional changes that occur during the three trimesters of pregnancy and detail recommended asana, pranayama, relaxation and meditation techniques. Some dietary and lifestyle recommendations are also included, along with inspirational quotes.

Module four covers post-natal practice and how to promote your classes.

Successful completion of homework assignments is required before continuing to the next module. Many of the assignments require the creation of handouts for students, with the intention of forming the basis of a portfolio of handouts for future classes. The intention is to supply you with the necessary tools to start teaching pre and post natal yoga with confidence and authority.

The complete course requires 50 hours of study.

Pre-requisites for enrolment

This course is designed for those who already have a Yoga Teaching Diploma or an equivalent qualification. Teaching Yoga to pregnant students is a specialist skill, requiring specialist knowledge and information. We do not recommend that anyone teach yoga to pregnant students without this knowledge.
