my laptop video has terrible sound and it seems to slow down with lots of movement. I was wondering how other students filmed their hour exam. What resources could i find to help me locate a video camera that won't cost too much.

Hi Ryn,

Do you or a friend have an iphone that can shoot video? If not, does a friend or one of the people in your video have a laptop you can use. You can always trade a favor for future lessons. What kind of a laptop are you using right now?

My husband filmed with my video camera which takes mini DV, but we had to transfer it to a dvd. I wish I just borrowed or bought a DVD camcorder to do it to avoid that step, but it came out good in the end. I would recommend not recording on slow play speed also, because my quality could have been better. I used a 60 minute DV and it would have been better purchasing a 90 minute so the quality would have a been a bit sharper.

Not sure what kind of laptop Ryn used but my mac has a wide angle lens. iPhones are great if you shoot sideways so that your longest side is parallel to the floor. Got to give you credit Kerry, the mini DV tape conversions to a DVD can be a pain. You and your husband deserve a medal.

Best way these days is iPhone or a good laptop. Test the camera before you buy. The iPhone can shoot 3 hours of HD video easily.
