About the need for chair yoga: For many reasons these classes have sprung up. Some seniors suddenly became aware of yoga in chair sitting societies. They're just not used to going to the ground with cars, chairs, couches and beds that are 2 to 4 feet from ground level. Look at climbing into an SUV - it's like mounting a horse in the big ones, but asking people to go to the floor and some will admit they haven't been on the floor in 15 years.
