Namaskar Gator,
Alright already! You have proved your toxic point. Your poor students!
Fact is, we have to charge something reasonable for classes. There is no umbrella yoga teacher organization that will provide meals, housing, or anything else for your welfare.
For example: Yoga Alliance and the British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) provide no such services for teachers who perform Karma Yoga. You are on your own, if you give the store away.
My point is every yoga instructor has performed Karma yoga. There is always a public gathering where we teach the public something for nothing. Every teacher has done this, but it is your right to receive tuition to support with running costs.
Yoga teachers deserve compensation for their time. Otherwise there will not be any Yoga. It is foolishness to think ashrams can run free. Even if we never take another yoga teacher training course, our families need food and shelter. I have already given up my television.
Om Shanti,
