Namaskar Juli,

If you desire an RYT certification with the Yoga Alliance, we have a program for it, but it involves on-site training at Aura Wellness Center, in Attleboro, MA. The Yoga Alliance wants contact hours for the Registered Yoga Teacher credential (RYT).

No correspondence course will meet the contact hour requirements of the Yoga Alliance. There are many certified and practicing Yoga teachers who are not currently members of the Yoga Alliance.

Our on-site training program will make you eligible to apply for the Yoga Alliance RYT. Currently, the Yoga Alliance now wants 200 contact hours and might not allow for independent study. They have been tightening their standards in the past few years.

I am an E-RYT 500, with the Yoga Alliance, and do train interns, on-site, for the Yoga Alliance RYT. Getting 200 contact hours with me for Yoga Teacher Training, is not a problem.

If you ever need to schedule an intensive for contact hours, mentoring, or a short apprenticeship, we can make arrangements. This could take about three weeks minimum.

There are currently three ways to get contact hours for the Yoga Alliance RYT.

1. Mentor with a Registered Yoga Teacher, who will vouch for your hours.

2. Visit a Yoga teacher training center for an intensive training session.

3. Apply for the RYT after you teach Yoga classes for 1000 hours.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me or contact the Yoga Alliance for information about their current standards.

Namaste,

Paul
