At this time it's very important for yoga teachers to have strong marketing skills. It is a crying shame when someone is a good yoga teacher but has no knowledge of marketing or business. You can't remain a teacher of anything without making money at it. The time for flighty ideas is over.

Yoga remains a healthy field because of people who learned to market themselves. If you think otherwise look at a rack of DVDs and notice how these yoga icons became famous. Some of them will say yoga isn't about self promotion or ego.

Well - we all have some ego and all of us want attention - even yoga icons. If someone felt that yoga wasn't about self promotion, why did they make a DVD? Do you see the conflict between words and actions? At least this site is down right honest. If you want to learn how to stay alive in the yoga field - read the forum posts.

Then read the 1000+ articles in the teacher blog. This is a completely free resource of easy to read material for people who teach or those who want to. I find it amusing that the creator of this poll made it with 3 negative options and one positive option at the bottom. But everyone who took the poll has clicked on the positive option at the bottom.

What ds that tell you? Graduates of Aura's programs are getting good results. There must be something to this recipe for success.
