Namaskar,
It would seem that the gender contoversy has created more posts on this prenatal yoga thread than the rest. Usually these prenatal threads have minimal traffic and fewer posts. Here are some answers to Rose's question. Women should attend prenatal classes for the following reasons.
Reduces lower back pain and sciatica
Improve your physical comfort
Learn to use the tools of meditation
Empower yourself
Reduces swelling and inflammation around your joints
Aids in digestion
Identify when you're holding to tension in your body
Helps prepare you physically for giving birth
Increases overall strength
Improves flexibility
Learn to use visual imagery
Use the muscles of your pelvic floor effectively
Reduces aches and fatigue
Improves emotional well being
If that dsn't seem like a good reason. Think about this - safety isn't a bad thing. Each trimester is unique in contraindications, modifications, and so on. You really need a trained prenatal yoga teacher.
OM,
Lea
