Namaskar Paulji,

I agree with most of what you have said. My problem is with any yoga organization that dsn't follow it's own ethics. For instance Yoga Alliance is an online organization, but they discriminate against online training. Online training gets one non-contact hour of credit for CEUs in comparison to 5 hours of study. Also, they won't accept online yoga training toward most of the RYT 200. The keep saying they will close the independent study track. All of these policies have divided yoga teachers in terms of wealth.

If I am rich, I can afford to leave work and study at an ashram. For that matter, I could visit you indefinitely for the "contact hours." You are a realist so you have correspondence and in person teacher training. For yoga instructors, you present many opportunities. This community is an open society of yogis from all disciplines and you don't suppress outside ideas.

The Aura yoga teacher community asks me for nothing but gives me much in the way of informations. This is why I buy your books and courses. This is very different from by rules, sell rules, policies, and detailed reading, which I find on YA's site. Their site creates much division between the haves and the have nots. If money is no problem then they suit me. If my expenses are difficult they alienate me.

Their is no unity in their actions. They create problems! But they aren't the only yoga organization like this! British Wheel of Yoga has created a reputation of discrimination against any teacher who isn't a UK resident. They don't approve of yoga teacher training outside of the UK. Training in India, America, and anywhere else is not good enough for the British Wheel of Yoga.

I am thanking you for the community you have built. It is such a good feeling to find so much information like this. All of these resources are used to grow the knowledge of yoga instructors in every part of the world.

Peace to you,

A.S. Kumar
