I took a Bikram class at one of the Bikram Colleges of Yoga in Vancouver, Canada. There were some new asanas that I was not familiar with and some modifications of more familiar asanas. Obviously the big difference was the heated environment. I can see the benefits with respect to preventing injury and promoting release of toxins through perspiration. However, I found it a bit overwhelming after 1 1/2 hours. On the other hand other students, as well as the instructor, told me that you do get used to the hot room. My understanding is that if you want to be a certified Bikram Yoga teacher, this training can only be obtained at a Bikram College of Yoga.
