    • Should I teach Yoga? Is this right for me?

One of the biggest leaps in life is from student to teacher, but isn't it true that all teachers are perennial students? Do you have questions about the perceived problems of teaching classes? Whether you are a teacher or student, you can share your questions, concerns, or answers.

    • Regulations

Yoga teachers are subject to many different types of regulations, depending on where they live, and work, and whether they are self-employed, independent contractors, own their own studio, or work for someone else. Regulations you may need to be aware of can vary from those that are business related (such as business licensing and taxes) to those that carry health responsibilities (such as ensuring that students are informed about safe and proper techniques) and liability or insurance concerns. What have your experiences been with regulations? What difficulties have you encountered? Can you offer suggestions and tips for teachers who are just beginning? Please be sure to mention where you live so we can learn how things are done elsewhere.

    • Level 1 Yoga Teacher Training

The generally agreed number of minimum training hours is 200, but there are level 1 programs with 320 training hours or more. Do you feel the standards are just right? Can level 1 be covered in less than 100 hours? Our teacher correspondence course averages 240 hours to complete. Do you think it covers too much? No matter who trained you for level 1, what would you like to be emphasized in the syllabus? Was any subject under or overdone?

    • Kids Classes

Kids Yoga is catching on, but some geographic areas seem to struggle with captivating the interest of children. Is this due to teaching techniques or is it a regional difference? Is teaching children an untapped market, where children learn life skills and stay fit? Is Yogic exercise a good form of therapy for attention deficit disorders? Can you picture yourself playing Yogic games with children? What goes on in a Kids class?

    • Level 2

Most level 2 Yoga teacher training programs average 500 training hours minimum and 100 hours of teaching time. Do you feel this is enough? What do you think the emphasis of level 2 training should be? Should it expand into each area of your training, or are there specific areas you would like to cover in more depth.
